What is endocrinology?
The area of medicine that deals with the treatment of diseases of the endocrine system – a system that regulates the activity of internal organs through hormones (biologically active substances that control metabolism and physiological functions). Endocrinologists study and treat diseases of the thyroid gland, parathyroid glands and adrenal glands, diabetes and obesity, and restore reproductive health of men and women.
Endocrinology at Kivach clinic.
Endocrinology is the area of medicine closely related to the holistic concept. This concept proposes to consider the organism as a unified system, in which all processes are interconnected and interdependent. Problems of endocrinology involve almost all branches of medicine: cardiology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, urology, gynecology, neurology.
Given the close connection of endocrinology with other areas of medicine, participation of an endocrinologist in other programs of the clinic will increase the effectiveness of the treatment. Such participation is provided on an individual basis if prescribed by an attending physician.
